Frequently Asked Questions About House Calls

How do I get started?

Email us to request an appointment.

summitnursecares@gmail.com

We will schedule your in-home appointment using your name, birthdate, and email address. You will receive a secure link to set up your medical chart.

Then we show up at your door. It's that easy.

Where is your office?

Our billing office is in Urbana, Maryland, but we actually make house calls! We also offer virtual visits through a secure telehealth platform for our established patients.

Do you take insurance?

No. This allows us to make the medical decisions based on your medical needs instead of what your insurance company requires.

However, you can use your flex spending or health savings card to pay for your visit, if you have a card with a major credit card logo on it. Just enter that information when prompted for the credit card information.

We are happy to email you a medical receipt (superbill) for reimbursement upon request.

Can you write prescriptions, order labs, or other tests?

Yes. In the state of Maryland, Nurse Practitioners have full practice authority, which means we can do everything that your regular primary care provider can do.

Can I use my insurance for prescriptions or labs/tests you order?

Yes. You will just present your insurance card to the pharmacy or lab when you go.

*Summit Nurse Consulting, LLC is not responsible for insurance claims or coverage options regarding prescriptions, labs, or other tests.

What ages do you treat?

We are board certified and experienced to offer medical care to all ages.

**Currently we have an adult waiting list**

Is there paperwork to be completed?

Yes. All of our documents are electronic. You will receive a secure email link to complete these documents which sets up your medical chart. All documents must be completed at the time of booking your appointment. This paperwork will also set up the method of payment.

Do I have to pay upfront?

Yes. We do require payment prior to the appointment. This fee is non-refundable and will be applied to the cost of your visit.

Please familiarize yourself with our fee schedule on our "fee schedule" tab.

Why is there a family admin fee for new patients?

We used to charge a greater rate for each new patient and found that this could be very difficult for large or growing families.

Instead of charging each family member a higher new patient fee, we charge all patients the same fee and collect the one-time family admin fee to cover our expenses with setting up new charts.

What is covered by your fees?

Our house call fee is all inclusive. It covers for any labs, tests, or prescriptions we order or perform.

Plus, the best value is that our fees include access to an on-call nurse practitioner for any questions you have after your appointment, either related to your visit or unrelated to your visit. Most concerns are worked out with direct provider communication and do not require a visit.

What if I cancel my appointment?

As long as you give us 24 hours notice, we can get you rescheduled without any penalty. However, if you cancel within less than 24 hours, your appointment is non-refundable. It will be held as a credit on your account.

What if you cannot offer the treatment I need?

Summit Nurse Consulting works with a variety of medical providers and will definitely get you connected with a reputable resource.

Are vaxxines required for me to be treated?

No. We do not require a particular immun schedule.

You've reached the Summit of healthcare— healthcare that really cares.
